BLOWN WOOL INSULATION FAQ

This type of insulation is made of molten glass spun into fibers with anti-static material. That said, some manufacturers also add colored dye during their manufacturing process. The colored dye does not have an impact on the insulating performance of the blown wool.

This depends on the application (walls or attics) and the density installed. The range is around 2.5-4.5 per inch or so, but please refer to the product packaging for more precise information.

Using an insulation blowing machine. The bag of blown wool or other types of loosefill insulation is fed into the machine. From there, the machine agitates the material and blows the insulation down a hose into a wall or attic. The material is densely packed in a wall and blown loose in the attic.
